Masked Gor and Khorngor

This was another somewhat recent doodle (I haven't been producing art much lately, in a bit of a slump) that I did on the evil of all evils, lined paper. Anyhow, I painstakingly removed the icky blue lines and kinda liked the result after I manipped it a little more.

I may or may not color this piece digitally. I know I often promise to do so, and never get around to it (and I've got a zillion half-colored pieced on my hard drive) so i'm not going to promise it this time though I really want to, and to provide them a background to stand in so they're not just floating critters.

Disclaimer: I'm not really into anthropomorphics as such, I'm just into fantasy art and the particular milieus I like tend to have things like these two Chaos beast...er...people (I was about to say men) or werebeasts and suchlike in them. That and these two particular characters are fun to draw.

The big guy (a Caprigor Truegor, as Beastmen would call him) on your left is my perennial subject Uhlrik, wearing a sort of comedie del'arte-inspired mask, and the female is Painhowler. She's a Khorngor and a rather vicious one at that (never mind that true Khorngors are technically Bray rather than Gors since they have no horns... but telling them that is a really bad idea). Why are they standing there together ready for battle? Because it looked good in the picture, obviously.

What is all this Gor and Bray nonsense? Chaos Beastmen use these various terms for their mutated, genetically unstable kind based on whether they have horns or not and a host of other physical characteristics. Details can be found in Realms of Chaos: The Lost and the Damned by Games Workshop (lamentably discontinued years ago) though I believe the more recent Warhammer battle releases on chaos talk a bit about this as well. I'm long out of that loop, however.
