Imitation of Life: Reaching

Another in the Imitation of Life series.

I found the disconnectedness of this hand and its associated arm fascinating given that they still seemed to me to be a unit, reaching out for something, or perhaps seeking a handhold even though the hand can no longer be any sort of anchor for the arm. Perhaps this is after the moment of surrendered hope, the cessation of reaching out for what is desired.
