Imitation of Life: Liesure

This is part of a series I shot shortly after I took down my Shrine installation, when I was returning the components to the boneyard I found them in.

Looking around the place, I was inspired to think about what I saw and to shoot in response to what these things were saying to me.

I was writing a long and quasi-poetic explanation for why I shot this one, but I deleted it. I'll let the piece do its own talking. I think its internal integrity can manage.

No, I didn't label this mature content even though it's a photo of a nude simulacra of a human being. I don't think it is, any more than the Venus De Milo is (not that I consider this so important a work, of course. My ego's not so inflated I hope).
