Personal Quote: Deep down I think we're all cheesy, but we're too cynical to admit it.
Hello, I just stumbled on your comics and was wondering how you made them. Did you generate them one panel at a time and edited them together or did you use a ai comic generator?
Happy to help with that! I generate each panel separately (usually quite a few versions of each), then I touch it up in various ways manually with GIMP, sometimes drawing manually into them along the way, and then I edit them together onto the page. There are AI comic generators, but I want a lot more control over my output than that, and also the freedom to use different sources and methodologies along the way. I made a bunch of page templates for page layout, but their borders weren't as uniform as I'd have liked, so I am standardizing that much more for issue 2, which I think is working out. We'll see what the readers think!
I've been experimenting by creating a panel at a time then using a collage website to put it all together and then add dialogue with a photoshop-like website. I lack the knowledge, skills and sense of aesthetics to touch up images. And besides that, recently my SD installation has started to ignore my controlnet extension, so I have even less control over image output. Those are things I need to work on.
For pages, what page size, font and font size do you like to use?
On the original page, for issue 1, I worked in 300 PPI, at 2750x4175 pixels so I can have a nice printed version if I want, then once it's complete I resize it down to half for the purposes of Web posting. I'm using a slightly different aspect ratio for issue 2: 2900x4100, though again, I halve it down to post. The basic font I use for my text is Berlin Sans FB, at 42, on the full-size version of the page, so the small version is equivalent to a 21 size font. I do layout and edits in GIMP, and that's also where I do my word bubbles, which I create using selection areas and paths. Out of curiosity, which website are you using? Pixlr?
Hello! Just saw your Joker comic and I was wondering if you took requests or commissions? I have a couple of ideas I want to run by you to see if you were up for it.
Thank you! I historically haven't taken commissions through DeviantArt, but I'm certainly willing to as time and bandwidth allow. I'm definitely willing to discuss it.
Nice! I just sent you a note with the basic idea.
